Job description:
Allison-Smith Company is seeking a qualified and dynamic Electrical Engineer who can perform at a high level. If you consider yourself a problem solver, team player, analytical thinker with excellent communication skills, and a great attitude where it is infectious, we'd like to meet you!
Role and Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will understand basic electrical principles and have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Candidate should be able to work well with a team of engineers and independently on large and small commercial/industrial electrical construction projects. Knowledge of JavaScript. Visual basic and dynamo programming is a plus but not required.
- Model electrical systems and perform short circuit and coordination studies in SKM Power tools
- Model electrical content in 3D in Revit and plan out electrical systems based on the National Electrical Code.
- Write basic macros in excel and JavaScript to help increase productivity of repetitive tasks.
- Prepare reports for distribution to the clients.
- Print large scale drawings for project managers and field support.
- Detail oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Basic understanding of electrical principles.
- Knowledge and use of MS Windows, Office 365 Team, Autodesk programs (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.)
Work Experience:
- 3 years of electrical engineering field and/or construction industry experience.
Education:
- Preferred: Electrical Engineering degree
- Qualifying engineering degree(s): Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Architecture
