ABOUT THE POSITION:
Allora is looking for a Steward who will hold the responsibility of cleaning all the dishes, glasses, silverware, and cooking supplies for our restaurant. A steward must keep the dish room and dish machine in clean, working order. This person must be reliable and enjoy working in the kitchen.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
- Collect and transport soiled dishes from the first-floor dish room and line to downstairs dish area.
- Clean and dry dishes, cooking instruments, glassware, and flatware.
- Put dishes away neatly, in appropriate locations.
- Follow instructions/direction from management.
- Maintain up and downstairs kitchen work areas (ex. cleaning hoods, dusting, maintaining mop closets, de-liming dish machine).
- Follow and perform multiple cleaning schedules (ex: sweep and mop stairs and prep kitchen floor, take trash out, and cleaning staff bathroom).
- Ensure that all dish cleaning equipment is maintained, and supplies are stocked properly.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.
- Assist kitchen staff with food preparation duties when needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous Stewarding/Dishwashing or restaurant experience a plus.
- Reliable transportation is a must.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Hardworking, passionate, and can easily take direction.
- Willingness and drive to learn and grow.
- Able to work a flexible schedule.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
