Are you a mechanically inclined individual with a passion for engineering and CAD design? Join our dynamic team at Alloy Engineering and gain valuable hands-on experience in the world of mechanical engineering. We are seeking a motivated intern to assist with CAD drawings, work instructions, reverse engineering, order processing, and quoting in a steel fabricating environment.
Responsibilities:
• Create CAD drawings using software such as SolidWorks.
• Collaborate with the CAD team to develop and refine designs.
• Develop work instructions for various tasks on the production floor.
• Aid in the reverse engineering process for rebuild projects.
• Address and close out drawing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) by implementing necessary changes.
• Assist in order processing by creating job packets and routing them through the production process.
• Participate in simple quoting tasks, estimating hours for cutting, forming, bending, welding, etc.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Junior year of college completed in an engineering program preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
• Familiarity with fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, and forming.
• Exposure to a steel fabricating environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of materials science and mechanical design principles is a plus.
