Position Summary:
The Business Analyst role serves as a liaison between IS&S/IT and other departments to define processes, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement new functionality. This position will document stakeholder requirements, measure/monitor process efficiency, and develop and manage projects. They will coordinate implementation, testing, training, and communication efforts with other departments and customers. This is a business-facing and technology-facing role, requiring excellent communication and organizational skills to create alignment amongst multiple sponsors, internal and external.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to understand organizational and operational challenges.
- Keep up to date on the services and products IS&S/IT provides.
- Manage technical difficulties, working with implementors when necessary.
- Partner effectively with business stakeholders and subject matter experts in a collaborative manner, building constructive and effective relationships.
- Partner with the business and technology delivery teams to ensure business processes are understood, documented, and fit the needs of the organization.
- Map processes from current to future state, define business and tech requirements and scope, and proactively champion change to business stakeholders and development teams.
- Ensure process documentation is created, stored in a shared environment, and remains current.
- Assist business stakeholders with testing of system changes and analyze data flows for process improvement opportunities.
- Advocate process changes to improve and support business activities in designing future state of new products and platforms.
- Provide leadership for the implementation of process improvement opportunities by mapping out process changes, refining requirements, and scope, and proactively communicating project capabilities to business leaders, stakeholders, and users.
Education/Requirements:
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and/or 3 years equivalent work experience as a business analyst.
- Working industry knowledge with proven capability to analyze business requirements discovered in customer meetings and communications.
- Working knowledge of various types of project management and business analysis software. Workfront preferred.
- Infor Nexus experience highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Including Intermediate in Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of team members, including executives, managers, IT professionals, and subject matter experts.
- Proven ability to facilitate requirement workshops / training sessions with large groups of business users and leadership.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to completion.
- Strong ability to work effectively and independently within time constraints, changing priorities.
- Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision while achieving consistent, timely delivery of objectives.
