Pole Inspector I

The Pole Inspector I at ASG plans, surveys, designs, tests, and drafts pole-based projects for the organization’s clients. This role also takes notes from the field visit, transfers them into a sharable file, and transmits them to a Drafting Technician so the finished product can be uploaded into the appropriate client system.

What you’ll do: (Including, but not limited to):

• Prepares routine field notes for projects, including the finding of field tests; creates various drawings of structures and equipment systems from their findings
• Follows established technical specifications to prepare reports and drawings
• Manage, organize, and layout inspection requirements for each inspection
• Consult with applicable parties regarding model accuracy, design, and drafting standards
• Surveys multiple poles within the assigned area utilizing the processes and procedures associated with detailed pole inspections
• Responsible for client and customer contact and obtaining permission to enter private property to survey poles
• Read and understand architectural, engineering, and construction drawings and details
• Sketches schematics during and immediately following a field survey; provides quality assurance to projects when applicable
• Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities of this job classification

What you’ll need:

General

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Requires excellent communication and customer service skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

Desired

• Telecom, Power, or CATV fieldwork experience a plus
• Ability to read and understand architectural/engineering drawings
• Ability to manage, organize and layout drawing requirements
• Understand architectural and construction detailing

Job Type: Full-Time – Hourly (Non-Exempt)
