Aircraft Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Airframe Design Engineer to join our team in Adelanto, CA. This role involves designing aircraft and airframe structures, contributing to the development of next-generation, high-performance uncrewed aircraft.

Responsibilities:

• Aircraft and Airframe Design: Contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of prototype aircraft.
• CAD Layout: Complete CAD modeling using NX Siemens.
• Aerostructure Design: Utilize first principle methods and design guides to rapidly develop and trade aerostructures.
• Structural Sizing: Ownership of the development of primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using sheet metal, billet metallic, and composite materials.
• Collaboration: Work within a team of 15 engineers and coordinate with teams of 60 across multiple groups.
• Detailing: Detail out the structure of aircraft and coordinate with various departments to mature the design from conception to production.
• Prototype Testing: Participate in prototype testing and design reviews.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering preferred. Candidates with a Master's or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline are also considered.
• Preference for candidates with experience in airframe design engineering. Practical aircraft understanding and passion (pilot, homebuilding, A&P, RC, etc.) are highly valued.
• Proficiency in CAD layout (NX Siemens), aircraft system design, aerostructure design, and structural sizing. Ability to review results from stress and stiffness models and implement improvements or detect errors.
• Excellent communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative group.
• Hands-on work experience (building, machining, fabricating, repair, etc.) is a plus.
