Summary:
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Industrial Control Systems (ICS) for water and wastewater treatment facilities. This includes SCADA and HMI system programming, ensuring data security, and supporting process control improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Design and Maintenance:
- Design, install, configure, and secure ICS, including SCADA and HMI systems (graphics, Tag Databases, and reports).
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, motor control equipment, instrumentation, and power distribution systems.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, test, and implement process control improvements.
- Technical Support: Provide expertise during design, construction, and startup phases of capital improvement projects.
- Integration and Collaboration: Work with other departments to integrate ICS with database systems and develop database schemas.
- Project Management:
- Participate in project meetings, review design documentation, and assist with procurement.
- Coordinate internal or external electrical and instrumentation staff as needed.
- Training and Documentation:
- Train operations staff and develop technical documentation.
- Prepare CAD electrical drawings in compliance with standards.
- System Administration: Manage servers, network equipment, firewalls, and associated SCADA hardware/software.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: ICS design and related software systems.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license (ability to obtain a City driving permit).
Technical Skills:
- Expertise with Modicon PLCs, AutomationDirect PLCs, Wonderware, and Ignition software.
- Proficient in SCADA and HMI development, including coding and system integration.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Demands:
- Medium work, including lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent physical activities such as climbing, crouching, and manual dexterity.
Work Environment:
- Industrial environment with exposure to chemicals, solvents, and dust.
- May require after-hours emergency response.

Salary : $91,000 - $106,500
