Mechanical Designer. Salary range 85-95K.
Autodesk Inventor (Solidworks or Creole 3D also fine).
Experience designing metal structures from vehicle size and larger.
Our client is looking for an ambitious and confident Mechanical Designer. You will be responsible for working on all stages of our system, from research and design to manufacturing, installation, and evaluation. Your problem-solving skills and ability to work at a very high pace will certainly be challenged in this position.
The purpose of this role is to support production, by ensuring timely completion of 3D modeling for client projects. Most client projects are for airport facilities including hangars.
Responsibilities and Deliverables of the Role
In this position, you will:
• Design and standardize parts and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling software
• Produce shop drawings and Bill of Materials for production and procurement
• Prototype and test designed parts before standardizing the parts and assemblies for manufacturing
• Take on or be part of any other technical/engineering project needed to progress our goals
You will report directly to the Engineering Manager.
Job Required Competencies
• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of mechanical design experience
• At least one successful engineering internship with a reputable company
• High proficiency in 3D modeling (preferably Autodesk Inventor)
• Flexibility to be prepared to travel at least 1-2 weeks each quarter as we typically install our systems at client sites all over the US.
