We are seeking an experienced Red Hat Directory Server (RHDS) engineer to design, maintain, support, and optimize our global directory services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with RHDS in large-scale, complex environments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and Architecture
- Implementation and Maintenance
- Install, configure, and maintain RHDS instances across multiple data centers
- Set up and manage multi-master replication for high availability and load balancing
- Implement and manage access controls, schemas, and password policies
- Perform regular health checks and proactive maintenance tasks
Support and Troubleshooting :
Provide tier 3 support for RHDS-related issuesResolve complex directory service problems, including replication conflicts, performance issues, and authentication failuresConduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutionsPatching and Upgrades :
Develop and execute patching strategies for RHDS instancesPlan and perform version upgrades with minimal service disruptionTest patches and upgrades in a staging environment before production deploymentDisaster Recovery and Backup :
Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures for RHDSRegularly test and refine recovery processesMonitoring and Performance Tuning :
Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions for RHDS instancesAnalyze performance metrics and optimize directory server configurationConduct capacity planning and scaling activitiesIntegration and Interoperability :
Work with other teams to integrate RHDS with various applications and systemsEnsure interoperability with other directory services and authentication systemsDevelop and maintain LDAP schemas to support application requirementsSecurity and Compliance :
Implement and maintain security best practices for RHDSEnsure compliance with industry standards and internal security policiesConduct regular security audits and address any findingsAutomation and Scripting :
Create and maintain documentation for all scripts and automation processesKnowledge Sharing and Training :
Provide training and mentoring to junior team membersCreate and maintain documentation for RHDS processes and proceduresStay updated with the latest developments in RHDS and related technologiesRequirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field5 years of experience managing RHDS in large, complex environmentsStrong understanding of LDAP protocols and directory service conceptsExperience with multi-master replication, load balancing, and high availability configurationsProficiency in Linux / UNIX systems administrationScripting skills in Bash, Python, or PerlFamiliarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus)Knowledge of PKI and SSL / TLSExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication skills and ability to work in a global team environmentPreferred Qualifications :
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certificationExperience with other directory services (e.g., Active Directory, OpenLDAP)Knowledge of identity management and single sign-on (SSO) solutionsFamiliarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)This role requires a highly skilled professional who can manage RHDS in a complex, global environment.
