Key Responsibilities
- Training Program Development
- Design and develop training curricula, materials, and tools for a variety of topics, including technical skills, soft skills, company policies, and leadership development for HVAC and plumbing trades
- Tailor programs to meet department-specific needs and support individual and team growth.
- Training Delivery
- Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions in person, virtually, and through e-learning platforms related to HVAC and plumbing
- Conduct onboarding programs to ensure new employees understand company culture, values, and job expectations.
- Employ adult learning methodologies and innovative teaching techniques to drive knowledge retention and application.
- Assessment & Evaluation
- Develop and administer assessments to measure training effectiveness and employee comprehension.
- Collect feedback from participants to continuously improve training content and delivery.
- Report on training program success and provide recommendations for enhancement.
- Collaboration & Support
- Partner with department managers, HR, and leadership teams to identify skill gaps and training needs.
- Assist in the creation of career development pathways for employees.
- Support the implementation of new systems, tools, or processes through effective training.
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with trends and advancements in learning and development.
- Leverage new technologies, tools, and delivery methods to ensure training programs remain relevant and engaging.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Corporate Trainer, Learning & Development Specialist, or similar role.
- Proven experience designing and delivering training programs across various mediums.
- Experience in the Plumbing & HVAC or other residential repair/installation setting (preferred)
- Experience in a peer support group or initiative such as Nexstar (preferred)
- Well versed in Service Titan or other industry related software (preferred)
- Skills:
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in training tools and platforms (e.g., LMS, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Ability to assess training effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Certifications: Certifications in training or instructional design (e.g., CPLP, ATD) are a plus.
- Ability to travel to various offices as needed.
- Flexibility to deliver training across multiple shifts, if applicable.
- Combination of on-site, and classroom training environments.
