What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer position at Alltru Credit Union?
Alltru Credit Union, a certified Great Place to Work, is looking for our newest volunteers to join our Board of Directors! As a member of our Board, you can help shape the future of your credit union by working to set strategic direction and ensuring the credit union fulfills our obligation to our members, employees, and the communities we serve.
As a volunteer on our Board of Directors you must meet the following criteria:
- Has no felony convictions and has no misdemeanor convictions of a nature inconsistent with our values or code of ethics and conduct.
- Has been a member of this credit union for at least two years.
- Has read the documents in the Election Information Kit and is willing to accept the responsibilities of an elected or appointed office and is willing to sign the Terms of Agreement and the Code of Conduct.
- Will be able to act independently and objectively.
- Is not currently, nor has been previously, an employee of this credit union.
- Is not an employee or Director/Volunteer of a competing financial institution.
- Able to meet the time commitment described below:
- Read advance material provided monthly and prepare to discuss at the board meeting - 2 hours per month
- Attend monthly board meetings - approximately 2 hours per month
- Complete NAFCU Certified Volunteer Expert certification - 10-12 hours, one time
- Maintain NAFCU Certified Volunteer Expert certification - 2 hours annually
- Attend planning sessions as required - 8 hours every one to three years
- Read and respond to emails as required.
- The Volunteer position is unpaid. Please skip the Desired Salary question. It is not applicable.
