Description
As a Partner in Wellbeing, the Mental Health Practitioner provides rehabilitative services to clients with mental illness or children with emotional disturbance in the form of instruction, support, and assistance for the purpose of promoting psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustments, and independent living skills. Mental Health Practitioner, under the oversight, direction, and evaluations of a mental health professional, may provide an adult client with client education, rehabilitative mental health services, functional assessments, level of care assessments, and treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Relevant coursework by completing at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in Behavioral Sciences or related fields and having at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness, substance use disorder, etc.
- Qualified through work experience 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness, substance use disorder, etc.
- Must pass a criminal background check through MN DHS NetStudy.
- Access to a personal vehicle and the ability and willingness to use the vehicle in carrying out the position’s responsibilities.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable under the agency’s automobile insurance policy.
- Free from substance use problems for no less than 2 years.
