About the Role
As a Partner in Wellbeing, the Mental Health Practitioner provides rehabilitative services to clients with mental illness or children with emotional disturbance in the form of instruction, support, and assistance for the purpose of promoting psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustments, and independent living skills. Mental Health Practitioner, under the oversight, direction, and evaluation of a mental health professional, may provide an adult client with client education, rehabilitative mental health services, functional assessments, level of care assessments, and treatment plans.
Essential Responsibilities
• provides Mental Health services as outlined in the client’s treatment plan in the home, community, school, or office to help clients cope with and recover from the symptoms of their mental health condition in the capacity of a mental health practitioner.
• Participate in service and documentation, individual supervision, and team meetings.
• Reviews and provides feedback on staff clinical documentation per regulatory requirements.
• Provides onboarding training to new staff in service and documentation requirements.
• Works with department leaders to identify trends in service and documentation quality errors.
• Identifies training needs for the department.
• Schedules time effectively to ensure assigned billable hours targets are met.
• Focuses on integrated health (physical, mental, substance use, and oral) care, ensuring clients are referred to any necessary internal and/or external services to support their overall wellbeing.
• Ensures care coordination activities are client-centered.
• Participates and represent Alluma at community events.
• Performs additional duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Position Requirements
Education, Certification, and Experience
• Relevant coursework by completing at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in Behavioral Sciences or related fields and having at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness, substance use disorder, etc.
• Qualified through work experience 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with mental illness, substance use disorder, etc.
• Master’s or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields.
• Three or more years of experience working with clients with a mental health diagnosis.
• Must pass a criminal background check through MN DHS Net Study.
• Access to a personal vehicle and the ability and willingness to use the vehicle in carrying out the position’s responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable under the agency’s automobile insurance policy.
• Free from substance use problems for no less than 2 years.

• Skill in organizational skills, flexible, reliable, and able to meet paperwork deadlines.
• Ability to coach other’s performance in the delivery of direct client care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, community resources, and organizations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

Work Requirements
Physical Activities:
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from on worksite to another.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment for extended periods of time.
Environmental Conditions:
• Adverse environments include possible exposure to second-hand smoke, pests, pets, garbage/hoarding.
• Weather conditions (may become hazardous while in the field)
Physical Demands:
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 lbs.
Work Location/Status/Hours:
• Non-exempt, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-9:00pm, flexible schedule including weekends as needed to meet client’s needs. Location as assigned.
Salary : $24 - $26
