Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The Intake Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing patient intake processes, ensuring that all necessary information is collected accurately and efficiently. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the intake process for new patients, including collecting necessary documentation and verifying insurance information.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate with medical staff to ensure a smooth patient flow.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Utilize electronic health record systems (Wellsky) and hospital referral system such as Epic, Careport, Dina, Navi, Strata, etc for data entry and management.
- Assist patients with inquiries regarding services, insurance coverage, and other related questions.
- Collaborate with medical office management to streamline processes and improve patient experience.
- Ensure that all front desk operations run smoothly, including answering phones and greeting patients.
- Stay updated on Medicare regulations and medical coding practices to assist with billing inquiries.
Skills
- Proficient in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
- Knowledge of Medicare policies and procedures is preferred.
- Experience in medical office management or front desk operations is essential.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience using electronic health record systems such as Epic, Careport, Dina, Navi, Strata, etc is necessary.
- Understanding of medical coding practices is beneficial.
- Initiate Forcura Chat with clinicians
- Manage ongoing Forcua requests from clinicians
- Initiate welcome calls with patients/family verifying accurate referral information
- Contact clinicians for physician orders
- Previous experience in home health environment a must.
