Overview

The Project Engineer – Land Development plays a crucial role in overseeing various engineering projects related to land development. This position is responsible for the planning, design, and execution of land improvement projects ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Working closely with architects, planners, contractors, and clients, the Project Engineer is integral to ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the stipulated quality standards. By applying advanced engineering principles and project management techniques, the Project Engineer contributes to the successful transformation of land into usable spaces, whether residential, commercial, or mixed-use. Moreover, this role emphasizes sustainability, safety, and environmental stewardship, aligning with the organization's commitment to creating livable, equitable communities. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of land development projects, from conception to completion.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate project viability.
  • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Collaborate with architects and planners on design specifications.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors during the construction phase.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Facilitate communication between all project stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Oversee quality control measures to ensure project integrity.
  • Prepare status reports and presentations for clients and management.
  • Lead project meetings to discuss progress and next steps.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff as needed.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in land development projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering design software.
  • Strong understanding of zoning laws and environmental regulations.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in budget preparation and management.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Commitment to safety and best engineering practices.

Salary : $80,000 - $105,000
