As a key player in our organization, you’ll help grow our advertising sales by connecting with clients through phone, fax, email, mail, and in-person interactions. You’ll be responsible for selling advertising space for Lancaster Farming, in our special sections, and across our online platforms. In addition, you will provide excellent customer service, handle clerical tasks, and offer essential sales support to ensure smooth daily operations.

Essential Job Functions
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in email, phone, and in-person sales presentations. You should be able to convey complex information in an accessible and compelling manner.
- Utilize available data, as well as self-generated and approved insights, to craft engaging and factual sales presentations tailored to potential clients.
- Understand and correctly apply company credit policies in your sales interactions and client negotiations.
- Use rate cards effectively, ensuring pricing accuracy and consistency in all client communications.
- Meet all established deadlines and deliver assignments promptly and efficiently.
- Accurately complete and submit insertion orders and inter-departmental forms, adhering to internal processes.
- Create and prepare clear, precise, and visually appealing advertising copy and layouts (both finished and speculative) for assigned territories.
- Develop and execute detailed work plans to maximize sales and service contact with existing, past, and new customers, actively pursuing special sales opportunities.
- Handle customer complaints and inquiries with promptness, fairness, and professionalism, following supervisor guidelines.
- Maintain a professional, positive, and enthusiastic attitude while performing duties, representing the company in a manner that promotes confidence and trust.
- Actively pursue new customers, analyze competitor products, and prepare "spec" copy and pricing comparisons to present to prospects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Type 30 wpm
- High School diploma or GED required
- Previous sales experience is REQUIRED & agricultural background preferred
- $40,000 base salary plus generous commission plan for this position
- 4 weeks PTO to start (pro-rated for first year)
