Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to serve as liaison between the member and the Credit Union. Responsible for providing account information, opening new accounts and professionally handling Credit Union needs of our members.
Essential Responsibilities
- Represent the Credit Union to the members in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient and accurate services in the processing of transactions.
- Provide in person and by telephone, general and specific service-related information concerning Credit Union services and policies.
- Respond to members’ requests, problems, and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
- Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Set up new account files and provide members with all necessary information for membership.
- Handle requests from members for transfers of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, line of credit advances, and any other request received from members.
- Process member mail and night drop transactions.
- Mail receipts and checks to members as indicated by policy and procedure.
- Research accounts for deposit, withdrawal and loan payment discrepancies.
- Research and resolve member account problems.
- Assist members with the proper completion of payroll deduction and direct deposit cards.
- Reconcile cashier checks at the end of each day.
- Set up payroll distribution amounts.
- Process transactions received through the night depository box.
- Balance teller drawer on a daily basis, and at least 3 times per day.
- Balance the vault each night.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Credit Union history and philosophy, as well as policies and procedures of the Credit Union.
- Help train new employees.
- Cross sell Credit Union products.
- All other duties as assigned.
Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Organizational skills
- Excellent telephone and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in the use of general office equipment is preferred
- Data entry experience and proficiency is preferred.
