Overview
The Construction Materials Testing Technician provides construction site field observation and performs and documents routine field and lab tests for the purpose of verifying conformance to construction plans and specifications.
Duties
- Construction site field observation
- Perform sampling and field testing on construction materials such as concrete, soils, aggregates or asphalt in the field.
- Check compliance with plans and specifications
- Prepare electronic daily field reports that summarize services provided, and calculation of test results
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors and engineering team.
Qualifications and Preferred Certifications
- Preferred minimum one year of applicable experience in soils, asphalt, or concrete testing (We're willing to train someone with the right aptitude and willingness to learn.)
- WAQTC certified and/or ACI Field Testing Technician, Grade I or above preferred
- Nuclear gauge safety training preferred
- AA in Civil Engineering Technology is a plus
- Ability to use a computer and/or mobile device to complete daily field reports
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. alone and maneuver up to 75 lbs. with assistance
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to apply basic math skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a client-service approach.
- Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license.
This position will require working outdoors in various weather conditions, and a willingness to work in excess of 40 hours per week during the busy summer months.

Pay Range: $20-$26 per hour depending on experience and certifications.
