The Role :
As an HR Generalist at AllWork®, you will play a critical role in supporting employees, clients, and internal teams by managing benefits administration, workers’ compensation compliance, and employee relations matters. Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related concerns, you will provide guidance on benefits enrollment, deductions, and eligibility, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will also oversee workers’ compensation classifications and claims, conducting timely follow-ups and ensuring regulatory adherence while supporting employees through the process.
In addition to benefits and workers’ compensation, you will handle employee relations matters, including investigating workplace concerns such as work hours or location discrepancies, harassment claims, injuries, and interpersonal disputes. You will document findings, provide clear recommendations, and escalate complex issues to senior HR leadership when necessary. Your role is key in maintaining compliance, fostering positive workplace relationships, and delivering exceptional support to employees, clients, and customers.
Work Location:
This is a full-time position with hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and requires being in the office (Iselin, NJ) four days per week.
\n- Client, Customer, and Talent (Employee) Support
- Serve as the primary HR contact for clients, customers, and employees, addressing HR-related inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, company procedures, and compliance requirements, ensuring alignment with local labor laws and company policies.
- Act as a resource for employees and clients regarding benefits, payroll, time tracking, and workplace policies, ensuring they receive accurate and clear information.
- Foster positive relationships by proactively identifying trends in HR concerns and recommending solutions to enhance the employee experience and client satisfaction.
- Employee/Talent Investigations
- Conduct thorough, unbiased investigations into workplace concerns, including discrepancies in work hours or location, workplace disputes, harassment claims, workplace injuries, and other employee relations matters.
- Gather relevant information by conducting interviews with employees, managers, and witnesses, reviewing documentation, and analyzing data to ensure fair and well-documented decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with legal and company-specific investigation protocols, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism throughout the process.
- Recommend corrective actions or resolutions in collaboration with HR leadership and legal teams when necessary, balancing business needs with fairness and compliance.
- Provide coaching to managers and employees on conflict resolution and appropriate workplace behavior to prevent recurring issues.
- Escalation & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of employee relations matters, investigations, and resolutions, ensuring clear documentation for compliance and legal purposes.
- Escalate complex or high-risk HR matters to senior HR leadership or legal teams when required, providing a detailed summary of findings and recommendations.
- Follow up with employees and clients to ensure that concerns have been adequately addressed and that ongoing support is provided when needed.
- Identify recurring issues or patterns in employee concerns and recommend proactive strategies to mitigate risks and improve workplace culture.
- Benefits Administration:
- Enter and audit employee benefit deductions in Paychex for all enrolled employees.
- Manage and verify benefit elections with providers such as United Healthcare, Guardian, and future vendors.
- Ensure all benefit data is accurate and aligned with employee elections.
- On a monthly basis, identify eligible employees for benefits and send them appropriate information to enroll into AllWork benefits
- On a yearly basis, prepare open enrollment materials which includes (but is not limited to) enrollment emails, enrollment forms, database for reporting, updating COBRA deduction amounts, and ensuring a smooth process.
- Workers’ Compensation Management:
- Verify and update classification codes for proper workers’ compensation coverage.
- Track and maintain reports on monthly loss runs and all open workers’ comp cases.
- Collaborate with external providers and internal teams to ensure timely updates and resolutions for claims.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for benefits and workers’ comp programs.
- Prepare monthly reports on benefits and workers’ comp activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding benefits and workers’ compensation.
- Store all communications of benefits offerings being made to employees
- College degree or 2 years experience in Human Resources.
- Experience in benefits administration or workers’ compensation management.
- Proficiency in Paychex, United Healthcare, Guardian, or similar benefits platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management and audits.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with employees, providers, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for tracking and reporting.
- Knowledge of workers’ compensation classifications and compliance regulations is a plus.
