Job Summary:
The Cabinets Bid Specialist facilitates the efficient administration of bids, bid reviews, and associated bid documentation.
Bid Specialist Responsibilities:
- Gather information for flooring, countertops, window treatments from multiple sources and consolidate proposals.
- Create and maintain EXCEL bid templates, including complex formulas.
- Ensure bid and proposal documentation is formatted, collated, and presented in a professional manner.
- Provide and organize documents for production to ensure accurate sizing / pricing of materials for ordering.
- Maintain status of proposals and work with Manager to ensure they are reviewed, revised, and reapproved, as necessary.
- Maintenance of data, and pricing for accuracy, based on changing specs.
- Assist with production of final bid documents and arrangements to supply these documents to the customer within defined tender deadlines.
- Monitor bid / quotation throughout the process, providing weekly status / exception reports as required.
- Create proposals to help obtain additional business.
- Create lot specific custom pricing proposals.
- Collaborate with Sales team and create Requests for Information (RFI’s) when needed.
- Maintain files on shared drive.
- Provide Design team with option pricing for appointments.
- Undertake other administrative tasks as required.
Bid Specialist Requirements:
- Intermediate to advanced EXCEL skills.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with strong attention to detail, time management and prioritization.
- Ability to work in a deadline-conscious, results driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Adaptable and flexible.
