What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Educator Peer Lead (admin) position at Ally Child Care?
Ally Child Care is currently looking to add an additional Peer Lead to our team. We are looking for someone experienced in training/guiding others while working in an early childhood setting.
Ally Child Care is a small, family-style childcare and learning center in Centerville/Washington Township. Our mission is to be a support to our Community, while providing the best care possible to the children in our care. We have small class sizes and low child to teacher ratios, allowing us to do just what our name says: be an ALLY to the children and families we serve. We were licensed in March of 2018, and earned our SUTQ 5-stars in October 2022. We have a positive atmosphere filled with teachers and admins that truly give their all to make a positive impact on the development and education of the children in our care. We are looking for a like-minded individual as we grow our team, that will continue to make Ally a fun and fulfilling place to work!
About the classrooms and work environment:
All of our classrooms use Conscious Discipline as an educational philosophy. If you are not yet familiar with Conscious Discipline, we are happy to teach you. In short, Conscious Discipline says that unless a child feels safe in their environment and loved by those around them, they are not in a brain state to be able to effectively learn. We create these safe and loving environments by instilling consistency and structure. We also build strong individual connections with our students and encourage social connections between peers. We also help children navigate social and emotional situations by adding concrete problem-solving skills to their "tool boxes." With infants, we support social and emotional development by using “I Love You” Rituals (small songs and repetitive games that encourage eye contact and communication), positive tones and language, and one-on-one attention.
We implement the Creative Curriculum. Our Curriculum is child interest based while incorporating all of the Early Learning Content Standards set by the state of Ohio. Family engagement is an important part of our day and to stay connected with the families we serve, and keep track of each child's daily progress and care, we use the HiMama app.
Our classroom sizes are relatively small compared to other centers. For example, our toddler rooms have 10 children with 2-3 teachers rather than 12 kids with two teachers. We are not a corporation, so we operate with more freedom than most centers and with a family-like feel. While we are a small center, we always have plenty of hard-working teachers and staff to make our days run smoothly, make sure our students are well supported and educated, and to ensure we are exceeding all of our rigorous safety and sanitary policies and procedures, as well as the ODJFS rules and Step Up to Quality requirements.
Who we are looking for:
Our current team is very dedicated to the success of the children. We are willing to learn and grow as a teacher and collaborate with the team to support their peers and individual students who require specialized support. We go above and beyond to meet the individual needs of each child and to support families. Our team works together to help everyone in the building, with a no-man-left-behind attitude. We are flexible when situations arise that call for flexibility, and step up to help one another balance their work and home lives. We are looking for the same type of work ethic and like-mindedness to add to our administration fame.
