Position Description
The Modeling Quant Manager will serve as a subject matter expert/professional individual contributor within Ally's treasury function. This manager will be primarily responsible for statistical analysis, modeling, and testing for balance sheet management and liquidity forecasting.
Job Responsibilities
- Using statistical analysis and data mining techniques to perform data analysis, develop statistical models to assist BSM balance sheet forecast, NII forecast, liquidity forecast and business planning.
- Ability to create, implement and perform benchmark tests on financial and behavior statistical model such as prepayment, default/loss and other statistical models.
- Ability to pull large data set from enterprise data bases and analyze data for model development, ad-hoc analysis and monthly reporting.
- Creatively using various types of tools to develop solution sets for balance sheet related tasks and scenarios.
- Improve modeling process within various financial analytical tool such as QRM or else. This includes but not limit to implement models into QRM, establish best practice modeling setup within QRM framework.
- Create strong partnerships with important constituencies such as business segment leadership, treasury personnel, accounting personnel and enterprise risk management personnel.
Qualifications
- Master degree from Economics or Science, Finance department or Ph.D. preferred.
- 4-6 years' work experience within a bank's Treasury or Finance department.
- Experience with QRM framework is desired.
- Strong coding and programming experience are required.
- Strong SQL on Oracle database, and programming experience with SAS/R/Python and other software experience is desired.
- Knowledge of financial products and balance sheet management is a plus.
- Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet pre-established deadlines.
