The Opportunity
The Operational Resilience Manager will be a member of Ally’s newly formed Enterprise Resilience function and will support the Operational Resilience Director in developing and executing strategic projects across the enterprise. The individual will partner with the Operational Resilience Director to identify, organize, and analyze information from disparate sources and teams to generate insight and develop solutions in furtherance of enhanced operational resilience and the Enterprise Resilience function’s broader objectives. The individual will play a primary role in supporting the Operational Resilience Director with centrally leading and driving the design, implementation, and deployment of the enterprise-wide Business Process Mapping (BPM) Program, including but not limited to, the BPM Program’s technology strategy, governance and oversight framework, execution methodology, and reporting. In performing these responsibilities, the individual will partner closely with key business line stakeholders, colleagues from other Enterprise Resilience programs, as well as colleagues from across Ally’s Independent Risk Management (IRM) organization.

The Work Itself
- Support the Operational Resilience Director in planning and actively managing the execution of the team’s projects
- Partner with teams across various business lines, Enterprise Resilience (e.g., Third Party Risk Management, Business Continuity and Crisis Management), and IRM (e.g., Compliance Risk, IT Risk, and Operational Risk)
- Support the development and execution of strategic programs in furtherance of enterprise-wide operational resilience
- Support central leadership and drive the design, implementation, and deployment of the enterprise-wide BPM Program. In addition to the responsibilities separately stated above and below, this will include, but will not be limited to: identifying integration points for collaboration with key stakeholders across the three lines of defense; assisting with developing and maintaining enterprise-wide BPM governance and execution documents (including, e.g., procedures, project plans, and training); and preparing a strategic plan to sustain ongoing foundational process map development and to gradually transition process map maintenance to the business
- Support strategic initiatives to integrate BPM process information with related operational resilience and risk management data from the Archer GRC tool assist the teams across various business lines and IRM with managing data
- Develop understanding of existing and emerging technology capabilities and potential to enhance strategic efforts related to the BPM Program and operational resiliency more broadly
- Support management and oversight of third-party resources
- Create presentations for senior management-level committees (e.g., Operational Risk Committee, Enterprise Risk Management Committee) and various other stakeholders across the three lines of defense
The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar discipline, is required
- 5 years' experience in Risk Management, Audit, Business Operations, or Process Optimization preferably in financial services
- Knowledge of common risk management framework and methodology components (e.g., policy/procedures, governance, reporting, risk control self-assessments, testing and monitoring, issue management)
- Knowledge related to business continuity and operational resilience is strongly preferred
- Knowledge related to process mapping and risk and control identification is strongly preferred
- Willingness to challenge conventional wisdom, gain consensus, and support change initiatives
- Familiarity with existing and emerging technology capabilities relevant to enhanced operational resilience and risk management
- Ability to analyze information from disparate sources and generate strategic insight to support enhanced decision-making
- Ability to think critically and independently problem solve in scenarios where a precedent does not exist
- Strong communication skills with proven ability to effectively present information to senior leaders
- Willingness to adapt to meet the needs of the risk organization in a dynamic regulatory environment
- Ability to handle competing priorities and follow through on commitments
- Proficiency with all Microsoft products (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI, Power Automate)
- Experience with GRC applications (e.g., Archer or equivalent experience) and other BPM Software (e.g., Celonis)
