Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn about catastrophe modeling and support Ally Insurance's growing business. Catastrophe Modeling is responsible for providing the business tools and analytics to better manage and understand Ally’s exposure to catastrophic weather events. The Quantitative Modeling Analyst will receive broad exposure to a wide range of processes, including data reconciliation and cleaning, modeling on new and renewal business, creation of catastrophe loss modeling and exposure concentration monitoring reports, and providing business and senior leadership with key reporting and insight on Ally’s catastrophe risk profile .

The Work Itself

  • Manage routine catastrophe model runs of Ally's in-force exposure and related reporting deliverables
  • Lead continued enhancement of monthly exposure accumulation and concentration reporting
  • Use modeling and related analytics to assess large account opportunities in support of underwriting function
  • Provide supporting analytics for reinsurance renewals for core Ally Dealership Insurance programs
  • Understand various property exposure data and corresponding reinsurance participations to assess assumed risk from diversified growth strategy programs
  • Support regulatory reporting and stress testing deliverables (A.M. Best SRQ, BMA BSCR, OSFI BAAT Ratio)

Skills

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferred concentration in risk management, finance, economics, mathematics, or related field
  • 1 year of experience in insurance or other financial services industry field highly preferred
  • Statistical programming background preferred
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • High level of accountability and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Ability to take initiative and work as needed to ensure deadlines are met
  • Effective at working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Detail oriented with a high level of problem solving capability

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate user of MS Excel (required)
  • Familiarity with SQL and/or Python (preferred)
  • Power BI (DAX / M) experience (desired)

Base Pay Range: $60000 - $85000 USD

An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.

Salary : $60,000 - $85,000
