The Assistant Principal at Alma Primary School is responsible for supporting students and faculty in grades K-2. This position requires an individual who holds a valid Arkansas educator license and possesses the potential or capacity to effectively perform the essential duties and responsibilities outlined below, as well as any other duties as assigned:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Assistant Principal reports directly to the APS Building Principal, as well as the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. Leadership and collaboration are key components of this position. This includes all aspects of supervision, administration and management of the following:
- Focuses on student/child development appropriate to K-2 students
- Promotes and maintains a culture of learning for students and personnel
- Establishes rules, procedures and support of classroom management
- Supports a culture of high expectations for student achievement, behavior and development
- Establishes and maintains high expectations for faculty and staff commitment to the processes of teaching and learning
- Leads and supports programs, PLCs, leadership teams, curriculum, instruction, professional learning, assessments and accountability
- Partners with the building principal in leading students, faculty and staff in fulfilling the mission and vision of the school
- Assists the principal in supervision of personnel including teachers, instructional assistants, support staff and others.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS and/or EXPERIENCE
- Valid Building-Level Administrator License (or in progress)
- K-5 classroom experience
- Building-level administrator experience preferred
- Preschool director expereince preferred
