Overview
The RNA Synthesis team in Research group is seeking a passionate, creative scientist to join our highly interdisciplinary team focused on the advancement of our RNAi Platform and Lead Development efforts through novel approaches towards a deeper mechanistic / structural understanding of RNAi. The successful candidate will have a strong background in oligonucleotide chemistry / biochemistry through in-depth hands-on experience in the synthesis and chemical / biophysical characterization of oligonucleotides as well as their potential biological applications.
This position is onsite and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute the automated synthesis, purification, and analysis of siRNAs using state-of-the-art instrumentation platforms. Collaborate with internal biology and chemistry teams to enable a greater understanding of oligonucleotide or protein structure and siRNA activity
- Develop new and / or improved processes to expand upon current RNA synthesis capabilities
- Explore the role and impact of chemical modifications to improve various RNA-based or RNA-targeting modalities
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on critical instrumentation such as automated synthesis platforms, HPLC, and liquid handling robots
- Work closely with the members of Research & Development and participate in cross-functional internal meetings. Analyze, organize, and communicate data with key stakeholders in R&D and throughout the organization.
