WebSphere Engineer / Admin

Locations :

  • Columbus, OH
  • Plano, TX
  • Tampa, FL

3 days onsite, 2 days remote - preference given to candidates near these locations)

Experience : 8 years

Must-Have Skills :

  • ZOS Connect and WebSphere expertise
  • Configuration management and Security management proficiency
  • Mainframe background : Batch jobs, JCL, TSO
  • Experience supporting Liberty product (IBM) and z / OS Connect (API Gateway)
  • WebSphere Application Server (WAS) proficiency in :

    • Architecture : Performance testing, monitoring, operations

  • Design : Compliance, security
  • Connectivity : Planning, securing
  • 3 years minimum experience with z / OS
  • Shell scripting skills (Python a plus) for automation
  • USS (Unix System Services) experience : Directory permissions, audit bit, ownership concepts
  • 5 years minimum experience across the WebSphere product domain

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server environments
  • Manage z / OS Connect API Gateway configurations and security
  • Monitor and troubleshoot WebSphere performance issues
  • Implement security measures to protect WebSphere applications and data
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and system administration
  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy and manage applications
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users
