The Aloft by Marriott Charlotte City Center is hiring for a full-time or part-time Laundry Attendant. The person hired for this position will work morning; weekday and weekend availability is required.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To maintain the condition of all hotel linen in accordance with the company and brand standards through efficient cleaning and processing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures maximum cleaning effectiveness by sorting laundry prior to washing according to fabric type, color, item or soil concentration
- Pulls damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading washers
- Ensures maximum loading capacity of machines
- Loads washers and dryers to recommended weights
- Saves energy by setting dryers for proper heating and cooling times
- Folds linen and towels according to brand standards
- Operates, maintains and cleans laundry equipment according to company standards
- Informs supervisor or management of any mechanical failures or supply shortages, so corrective action can be implemented
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be flexible in work hours to accommodate last minute changes in scheduling
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to engage and interact with associates and guests
- Must be detail oriented in supervising staff, inspection of facilities and completing assignments
- Must be available to work weekend shifts
JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum weight of approximately 20 lbs, stand for long periods of time, kneel, bend and crawl, squat and crouch.
