POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible to provide a broad range of HR-support to the department. This may involve supporting the HR team in the areas of administering recruitment, employee relations, wage and salary administration, education / training, and benefits processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned) :
Recruiting
- Develops and maintains professional relationship with colleges, universities, employment agencies, and advertising agencies as sources to generate applicants.
- Develops new strategies and programs to attract applicants including initiating advertisements for open positions with employment agencies and advertising agencies when needed.
- Attends job fairs and career days at technical schools and universities.
- Coach managers on the interview process in accordance with company process, and state and federal laws.
- Participates in interviews as requested and assists with reviewing applications.
- Initiates and manages the employment offer letter, promotion / demotion, transfer, and onboarding process.
- Drafts and / or edits job descriptions by collaborating with hiring managers to determine requirements.
- Builds requisition templates & job codes from job descriptions in the recruiting core system.
- Responsible for pre-employment paperwork, and drug and alcohol background checks for safety-sensitive employees.
- Communicates important employment information during delivery of job offers including but not limited to benefits and compensation.
- Assists in conducting first week and 30-day new hire check in.
- Assists in conducting New Hire Company Orientation presentation for Employee Services Department.

COMPENSATION
This position has a starting salary range of $62,530 to $72,000 per year.

Physical Demands :
The work is classified as “light” with regards to the physical demands. Some travel required up to 5%, mainly inter-island between company locations.
Lifting requirements : Heavy boxes weighing 25 pounds, light office supplies, stacks of paper and computer printouts. Carts may be pushed loaded with office supplies and / or computer printouts that may weigh 10 to 15 pounds. Pulling will be required such as paper trays in copy machines, and file drawers.
Climbing may be required up and down low step ladders, stooping is necessary for low file drawers and / or to retrieve supplies from the floor or under desks, kneeling and crouching may be required for filing.
Reaching to the top of file cabinets or shelves is required; materials handled will consist of general office supplies and copy machine toner and ink. Fingering is required for pages in books, computer print outs, documents to be filed, keyboards on computers, typewriters, calculators, copy machines, fax machines and telephones.
Talking is required at least 50% of the day; use of talking on the phone at least 25% of the day. Reciprocal communication is required at least 75% of the day. Good vision is required to process reports, data input, read correspondence and proofread documents and letters being sent out. Good hearing is required to communicate on the phone and while attending meetings.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
