Primary purpose of the role:
The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for insuring consistently high quality, damage and error free goods movement through the Aloha Freight Forwarders controlled supply chain. Key responsibilities include training, productivity management, communication, process and service failure resolution, safety, maintenance, scheduling, team building, personal and departmental accountability, policy and regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
· Motivating, organizing, and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity, quality, and safety goals are met.
· Strategically manage warehouse receiving operations in compliance with company’s policies and vision.
· Briefing team leaders on issues and opportunities identified within the operation.
· Participate in process improvement initiatives in a collaborative, proactive manner.
· Warehouse layout and efficient space and goods flow utilization.
· Initiate, coordinate, and execute operational policies and procedures.
· Adhere to all established handling and storage SOP’s and policies.
· Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security.
· Liaise with internal clients, suppliers, carriers, and clients.
· Plan work schedules, assign tasks appropriately, and appraise results.
· Recruit, select, orient, coach, and motivate employees. Personally coaching, training, and mentoring direct reports and providing career development opportunities through training and quality management activities.
· Providing leadership and direction to the freight team to ensure a consistent high level of service and quality for customers.
· Delegating workload to have it completed with both quality and efficiency in mind.
· Performing other related duties, as assigned.
Necessary Skills:
- Attention to detail with ability to see the bigger picture. This position requires a self-driven, disciplined and accountable associate with a mindful, engaged approach to the role, and a proven record as a continuous improvement, and a change management expert.
– Must have extensive freight forwarding and warehouse goods movement knowledge, with sound familiarity of LTL, TL, CL, LCL, and ocean transportation methods and best practices. Working knowledge of Inventory management, cycle counts, Labor management measurements, and team/individual productivity goals are necessary.
– Working knowledge of MS Office. Ability to become proficient in organization’s Operating System.
- Solid understanding of leading a warehouse team. Ability to handle business and human relationship issues, solve problems, exercise good judgement, and make sound decisions. Exhibit a strong ability to develop key working relationships with all levels of the organization and possess excellent customer service skills. Must have a clear ability to network with other individuals and effectively exercise influencing skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English. Ability to read, write, and speak in other languages desirable. Must to be able to communicate professionally via all forms of media, both verbal and written.
Educational/Experiential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 10 years of Warehouse, container and freight experience in import and/or export operations.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Haz-Mat General Awareness training

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
