The HR Clerk is well-organized and a quick learner, easily adapting to changes in the workplace while handling a wide variety of administrative tasks within the HR Department. The role is an exceptional communicator and handles confidential information discreetly and with sensitivity. What You Will Do:
The HR Clerk will support our HR department with various tasks and initiatives, including scheduling interviews, onboarding new hires, maintaining employee files, and providing support to the Leadership Team. The HR role acts as a liaison between 3rd party HR service providers and the organization and employees. The role follows exact instructions to properly execute tasks and professionally accepts constructive criticism to help maintain quality standards. The entry-level HR Clerk operates part-time (maximum 20 hours/week) and open to career advancement to a full-time salaried HR Generalist role (w/medical benefits & Paid Time Off) within 6 months to a year’s time depending on performance progress. The role works in-office with a flexible, Monday through Friday schedule, 4 hour shifts each day, and operating during standard business hours.
Responsibilities
· Provides a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to the organization and employees
· Produces internal documents and handles administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientations, promotions, separation of employment, etc.
· Creates/modifies job descriptions and manages the advertisement of vacancies based on current staffing needs
· Coordinates applicant interviews and assessments and initiates and guides the progress of candidate interviews
· Coordinates schedules with departments to prepare for an efficient onboarding process and to deliver an exceptional first day experience
· Generates official company documentation, such as, memorandums, amendments, company guidelines, employment verifications, etc.
· Performs daily data entry in HRIS and audits system for accuracy and compliance
· Produces various reports to the administration and outside entities when required
· Functions as a backup for payroll processing, including biweekly and semimonthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, vacation/sick pay, expense reimbursements, and benefits changes
· Governs the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart

What you’ll need:
The entry-level HR Clerk role requires excellent verbal and written communication expertise with proficient computer skills and an aptitude for problem-solving. The capacity to learn new technical systems and excellent organizational skills are also necessary. A strong desire to learn and willingness to work hard is quintessential for the entry-level role. HR background is not required but, clerical skills or experience working in an administrative environment is preferred. Basic knowledge of HR policies, some experience with HRIS software systems, and previous work with Microsoft 365 is highly desirable. The ability to maintain ethics and cultural awareness while connecting well with all kinds of people is a vital skill for the HR Clerk role.
