What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Aloha Medicinals?
The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
o Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
o Reconcile vendor statements and address billing and payment issues.
o Process accurate customer payment applications and assist with collections, if needed.
o Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments to the organization.
- Banking & Reconciliation
o Assist with accurate posting of transactions and monthly bank reconciliations.
o Assist with cash flow tracking and forecasting.
- Compliance & Internal Controls
o Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
o Support audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.
o Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Other Duties
o Assist with quarterly sales tax filings, reporting, and regulatory compliance as needed.
o Look for and provide solutions for accounting irregularities
o Support process improvements and implementation of financial systems.
o Provide backup support to the finance team on ad hoc projects and analysis.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Experience:
o Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
o 1-year minimum working experience (manufacturing or inventory-based industry preferred).
o Experience with ERP systems (SAGE100 experience a plus).
o Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
