Pest Control Technician-Maui
Job Summary:
The Pest Control Technician delivers safe and effective pest control treatment methods to our customers and provides exceptional services, including pest control treatments, bait installations/inspections, and spot treatments. The technician must be familiar with many different pests and termites in Hawaii. Pest Control Technicians are required to work towards acquiring the HDOA 7C General Pest Control Applicators license.
Daily Work Schedule:
- Working from Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as per the rotation
- Showing up on time and ready to work, with the start time determined by the location of the first appointment
Responsibilities
- Inspecting properties to identify sites of pest/termite infestation and determining the required treatment type.
- Applying chemical solutions, materials, or baits to eliminate pests as contracted.
- Acquiring knowledge of island pests and their habits
- Using appropriate protective gear and equipment during inspections and applications, always following label laws and company protocols
- Engaging in physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, crawling, climbing, bending, twisting, and working in various conditions
- Adhering to all safety protocols, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Reporting to clients before and after treatments, explaining any potential problems face to face when possible
- Recognizing safety as a personal responsibility and following proper safety protocols, with a commitment to personal and team safety
- Learning and gaining a working knowledge of Sentricon and Trelona baiting systems, including installation, inspection, care, and maintenance
- Measuring area dimensions for treatment, understanding pest and termite math to determine treatment areas, and needed materials.
- Ensuring safety procedures are followed for all applications and reentries.
- Possessing exceptional interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with customers
- Exercising strong attention to detail in treatments and bait applications, following label, installation, and application directions
- Reading and understanding product labels and SDS sheets in English or other permitted languages.
- Communicating all reschedules to the direct manager before leaving the customer's property.
- Knowledge of power tools, drills, power sprayers, general hand tools, and other tools as required by the job.
- Treating company-issued tools and equipment with care, respect, and maintaining them for proper functionality
- Maintaining proper inventory of tools, equipment, and materials in the company vehicle
- Assisting customers in moving belongings or items that may obstruct pest control treatment.
- Treating customers, homes, and property with respect and service with Aloha
- Building positive and strong relationships with clients and exceeding their expectations.
- Knowing and adhering to all HDOA regulations, following label instructions
- Maintaining a clean driving record and valid driver's license
- Respecting and obeying all traffic laws while safely driving company vehicles and never exceeding speed limits
- Taking responsibility for maintaining the assigned service vehicle in an organized, professional, and clean condition, following all HDOA-related regulations
Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid Driver’s License
- Good math skills — add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. You’ll need to be able to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
