Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cafeteria Cook to join our dynamic team at a large resort in Hualalai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving food items in our Employee Cafeteria, ensuring all meals meet production requirements and quality standards. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment while delivering exceptional food service.
Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Service (40%)
Prepare and serve food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production standards based on the established menu provided by the supervisor. -
Advance Preparation (20%)
Start food items in advance to ensure timely service, taking care to prepare only the estimated required quantities. -
Equipment Operation & Maintenance (10%)
Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill. -
Food Safety & Storage (10%)
Label and rotate food containers according to policies, monitor perishable temperatures, and ensure proper storage procedures are followed. -
Inventory & Cost Control (10%)
Check pars for shift usage, note shortages, and assist in plans to reduce food costs and waste. -
Team Collaboration (10%)
Maintain professional and harmonious working relationships with co-workers and supervisors, complying with company standards and work rules.
Additional Responsibilities:

Assist with vegetable and condiment preparation for the next shift as needed.

Follow all company policies and procedures regarding hygiene, safety, and sanitation.
Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma, cooking school, culinary institute certification, or equivalent experience. -
Experience:
Minimum six months of culinary or related work experience. This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training provided. -
Skills & Abilities:

Ability to efficiently operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
