What You'll Do:
Supervise Drivers and Delivery Teams: Oversee daily operations of drivers and delivery personnel, ensuring schedules are adhered to and deliveries are seamless.
Dispatch Coordination: Use DOS-based dispatching software to organize and assign delivery routes efficiently, considering load weights, vehicle types, and delivery locations.
Route Optimization: Plan routes based on factors like loading dock access, low-clearance garages, and vehicle restrictions. Assign the best-suited vehicle (van, box truck, mini-van) for each delivery.
Order Management: Break down orders into delivery loads, ensuring each van is loaded optimally for smooth transportation.
Scheduling: Develop and manage work shifts across multiple departments, coordinating with sales, warehouse, and delivery teams to ensure smooth operations.
Performance Monitoring: Evaluate drivers' skills and productivity to assign routes effectively and ensure on-time deliveries.
Product Familiarity: Quickly gain knowledge of our floral products to ensure proper handling and care during transit.
Problem-Solving: Handle last-minute changes, route adjustments, and customer needs with poise and efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Prior experience in dispatch, logistics, or a similar supervisory role is a preferred
Experience with DOS-based dispatching software is a big plus.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to supervise and motivate teams, ensuring accountability and high performance.
Organizational Skills: Strong capability to manage multiple priorities, from scheduling shifts to coordinating deliveries.
Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in using dispatch software or the ability to learn quickly.
Local Knowledge: Familiarity with Honolulu and surrounding delivery areas, including specific requirements like loading docks or low-clearance zones.
Problem-Solving: Resourceful and calm under pressure, able to adapt to unexpected challenges.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate across departments and maintain excellent customer service.
