We are seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to become a part of our team. We offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits for a full-time position. Litigation experience is required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare/revise/finalize correspondence and documents and other clerical assignments as delegated
- Maintain the Attorney's calendars with the direction of the Paralegal and Attorney
- Schedule client meetings and communicate with clients as necessary
- Maintain electronic client files
Qualifications:
- Must be able to take direction and work independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by organizing and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive tasks on a daily basis
- Excellent word processing and proofreading skills
- Excellent administrative and legal skills, professional, well organized, a self-starter, detail-oriented, have the ability to multi-task in a high-activity environment, able to prioritize assignments, and work well under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience as a legal assistant and use of practice management systems is a plus.
Education:
Undergraduate degree and/or Paralegal Certificate desirable.
Experience:
Three to five years’ experience at a Florida firm, with Litigation Experience required.
Knowledge:
Proven knowledge of Florida legal practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, agents, and the general public. Demonstrated leadership capabilities to effectively train, coach, and provide feedback.
Skills/Competencies:
Analytical skills used to make independent decisions and resolve conflict; coordinate the handling of cases involving serious and sometimes complex issues. Exceptional oral and written communication skills with clients, attorneys, parents, related professionals, and the general public.
Organizational skills to effectively establish work priorities and take direction from the Attorneys. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, Adobe Acrobat, Practice Panther, and/or other practice management software.
