Title: Packaging Engineer
Location: Fremont, CA 94538
Duration: 10 months contract with possible extension/conversion
Pay rate: $65/hr to $75/hr on w2
Shift Timings: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Position Overview:
The R&D Packaging Engineer will be a key member of the Sustaining Packaging project teams, responsible for the design and development of packaging components, artwork design, verification processes, shelf-life testing, and label design. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality packaging and labeling solutions for sterile and non-sterile medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support EU MDR Execution: Assist in the execution and implementation of EU MDR (European Union Medical Device Regulation) for SNV products.
• Design & Development: Lead the design and development of best-in-class packaging and labeling solutions, from initial concept through commercialization, for both sterile and non-sterile medical devices.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by assessing current procedures, gathering Voice of the Customer input, and identifying best practices.
• Packaging & Labeling Components: Develop packaging and labeling components that enhance the customer experience, collaborating with drafters to create 3D models and artwork.
• Life Cycle Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the product development life cycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work cooperatively with teams from quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, marketing, R&D, supply chain, vendors, and kitting centers across various geographies to ensure project success.
• Quality Compliance: Ensure compliance with all quality requirements and lead improvements to simplify maintaining compliance in complex areas, such as ever-evolving global regulatory requirements.
• Audit & Non-Conformance Support: Support audits, non-conformances, and CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions) as needed.
• Project Leadership: Lead small-scale packaging/labeling projects or co-manage large-scale programs, driving changes across the portfolio.
• Mentorship: Mentor or supervise technical staff, providing guidance as needed.
• High-Level Service: Model a high level of service and responsibility in managing a varied workload, working with tight timelines from internal clients.
Basic Qualifications:
• Education: B.S. degree in Packaging, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an applicable technical field.
• Experience: 3 years of experience in a highly regulated industry.
