Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled individual to take on a key role in managing and leading engineering projects within a fast-paced, large-scale manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the medical device industry, particularly in the areas of facilities utilities, manufacturing equipment, and validation processes. This individual will be responsible for driving the successful execution of multiple projects, ensuring the efficient use of resources, and meeting critical project timelines and milestones. This is an individual contributor role requiring independent judgment, professional expertise, and the ability to resolve complex challenges.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Lead and manage cross-functional teams through planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
• Prioritize tasks, assign resources, and ensure effective use of team capabilities to meet project deadlines.
• Evaluate and approve changes to project scope, budget, or timeline.
• Monitor and track project progress, performance, and risks; proactively address operational issues.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, including Gantt charts, to ensure timely delivery of milestones and deliverables.
• Build and track overall project timelines, ensuring alignment with objectives and deadlines.
• Provide input for CER creation and submission and track workstream project expenses.
• Develop resource plans, prioritize tasks, and manage team workload.
• Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors to ensure high standards of service.
• Set up and lead weekly vendor meetings, track meeting minutes, and follow up on actions to ensure progress.
• Identify risks and propose alternative solutions to ensure project success and mitigate delays.
• Ensure projects remain within budget, scope, and time constraints, with appropriate reporting of KPIs.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in medical device, facilities utilities, or manufacturing equipment industries.
• Strong expertise in project management, including leading teams, managing large-scale projects, and tracking progress.
• Proven experience with manufacturing equipment moves, utility upgrades, and MEP projects.
• Solid understanding of project lifecycle management, from planning to execution and risk mitigation.
• Experience in equipment validation, programming, automation, and deployment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate and resolve project issues.
• Proficient in project management tools (e.g., OnePPM, MS Project).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage external vendors and contractors.
• Preferred experience with cleanroom modifications and compliance within the medical device industry.
