12hr Shift:
- Rotating Hours

Position Objective
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) assists nursing staff in providing patient care, to include procedures that monitor body functions, transportation and movement of patients, set-up and maintenance of equipment, medical and surgical prep procedures and maintaining sanitary and neat conditions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Attend to the individual needs of the patient which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feedings, toileting, transferring, communication, or other needs
- Perform skills which include observation and documentation of glucometer checks, vital signs and Intake & Outtake into appropriate record keeping systems
- Lift, move, and transport patients using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention
- Answer patient call lights promptly and courteously
- Use infection prevention measures to prevent the spread of infection in and around the healthcare facility
Other Responsibilities
- Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
- Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
- Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
- Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department

Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the hospital setting
- Prior experience in a nursing home setting
- Completed the Certified Nursing Assistant course or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to assist in providing a safe and friendly environment
- Skill in observing patients for changes in conditions or behavior and promptly reporting changes to appropriate personnel
- Ability to maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of patients in the delivery of services to them
- Ability to interact with patients in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a carding environment
