Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall condition and functioning of the hotel’s facilities, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. This role ensures that all equipment, systems, and structures are in optimal working order to provide a safe, comfortable, and pleasant environment for guests and staff. The technician will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and assist with any emergencies or special projects as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and maintenance of hotel equipment, systems, and property (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, appliances, etc.) to ensure everything is in working order.
Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues, such as plumbing, electrical, and mechanical problems, in guest rooms, common areas, and staff areas.
Assist with room and building repairs, including but not limited to painting, drywall repair, fixture replacements, and floor care.
Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and assist in keeping track of maintenance logs.
Respond to guest requests for maintenance services in a timely and courteous manner.
Ensure compliance with hotel safety, security, and cleanliness standards.
Assist with emergency situations, such as power outages, water leaks, or fire alarm activations.
Support seasonal setup and breakdown operations, including outdoor equipment maintenance and snow removal (if applicable).
Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping, front desk, and management, to ensure all aspects of the hotel are functioning smoothly.
Monitor the maintenance inventory, ensuring all tools, equipment, and supplies are adequately stocked and maintained.
Assist with landscaping and outdoor maintenance, such as cleaning pool areas, inspecting beach equipment and maintaining the hotel’s exterior.
Qualifications:
Integrity
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality maintenance role preferred.
Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
Ability to perform basic repairs (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
Basic knowledge of power tools, hand tools, and maintenance procedures.
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and climbing ladders.
Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot problems efficiently.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions:
This is a hands-on position that requires both indoor and outdoor work, often in varying weather conditions. The role requires flexibility to meet the seasonal needs of the hotel, with peak demands during busy periods.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
