Duties:
Role:
An Assistant Branch Manager understands, communicates, and works to achieve the mission of the Credit Union and promise to members. This person will assist the Branch Manager in overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the branch by providing personalized advice that attracts, enhances, and retains member relationships.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Advise and coach members on products or services by proactively utilizing your financial counselor certification to assist with their borrowing and savings needs/goals.
Monitors and reports branch performance and activities that tie directly to the credit union strategic performance goals and branch audits to ensure appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions while ensuring compliance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.
Manages branch office in absence of manager.
Provide clear and consistent professional communication throughout the organization.
Represent the branch thru community engagement advocacy in schools and in its relationships with members.
Evaluates all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established Credit Union policies, procedures, and objectives; recommends changes to manager.
Assist branch manager in coaching employees for success and opportunities for career advancement. Initiate and promote enhancement of knowledge in self and one another.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.

1. Assist manager in maintaining a professional work environment with cohesive, highly trained, motivated staff sufficient to meet daily branch demands.
2. Actively promote an environment where credit union policies and procedures are carefully followed.
3. Coach and develop employees to identify member financial wellness opportunities utilizing the credit union products and services as well as our fiduciary partners such as CU Trust, AAACU Investment Services, etc. Promote an advice-based culture within the branch.
4. Provide informed, professional and accurate advice-based service and support to all members.
5. Keep management informed regarding key operating issues affecting the branch.
6. Note observations of employee performance and provide feedback to employees and Branch Manager
7. Assist the Branch Manager in developing and maintaining business partner relationships with the community and area schools by encouraging branch participation in community and school activities.
8. Actively advise members on products and services to achieve or exceed 100% of all established individual, branch, and credit union strategic performance goals.
Additional Desired Attributes:
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience - Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education - A high school education or GED. Financial Counselor Certification.
Interpersonal Skills - Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
