Alpha 7 Technologies is looking for an Electronics Technician to provide shipboard Alteration Installation Team (AIT) services supporting US Navy system installation, maintenance, and repair. We are looking for self-motivated technicians who love to travel and work in a team environment on project-oriented jobs. Installations specialize in Navigation, Surveillance and Combat Systems with job locations around the world in countries like Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, and Spain in addition to US Navy bases in San Diego, Norfolk, Mayport, and Hawaii.
Project durations range from 2 to 8 weeks onsite. Alpha 7 Technologies is a 100% work remote company. The candidate will report to the Program Manager and must be willing to work overtime, including weekends. Approximately 75% travel is required.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate in the installation and/or alteration to electrical equipment and systems aboard ships
- Routing, banding and terminating (connector fabrication) cables.
- Installing and modifying equipment racks.
- Install coax, Ethernet, and fiber optic cabling
- Perform software and hardware upgrades
- Buildout IT racks and install equipment following rack elevation diagrams
- Install backshells and connectors using crimp and solder connections
- Connect power-supply circuits for radar, radio, fire control, and other electronic equipment
- Assist in the troubleshooting of electrical equipment and circuits
- Interface with existing ship systems such as gyrocompass, GPS, power (60Hz and 400Hz), etc.
- Conduct wire testing such as continuity, resistance, and insulation tests of electrical cables
- Maintain installation documentation and upkeep of QA Logbooks
Requirements:
- Must be U.S. Citizen and hold a US Passport
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Department of Defense Security Clearance
- Must pass background check
- 5-7 years relevant electronics experience on U.S. Navy ships
- Read and interpret Shipboard Installation Drawings
- Climb up and down ship ladders throughout the workday.
- Lift and carry up to 30lbs over short distances
Desired Experience:
- Linux Operating System
- Familiar with NAVSEA TS 9090-310 Installation Requirements
- Former or Current ET or FC in the US Navy
- Knowledge of Work Authorization Form (WAF) and Tag Out Procedures
- Multi-pin Connector Certification
- Cableway Certification
- Fiber Optic Connector Certification
