Alpha Analytical Laboratories (Alpha), Inc. is hiring an entry level or experienced Courier / Lab Assistant at our environmental laboratory in Carson, CA. The position is a part-time position with approximately 20-25 hours per week. Alpha - Carson provides courier service as to its customer base of facilities throughout greater Los Angeles area.

The position provides a company vehicle, and the responsibilities include pickup of water and soil samples for return to the lab, delivery of sampling supplies (coolers, bottle kits), and in-lab duties such as dish washing and sample unpacking / labeling. Courier shifts will vary from day to day, typically starting between 8:00am - 9:00 a.m. and generally return to the laboratory between 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Customer pickups are scheduled Monday – Friday, with total miles driven per day average 50 – 100.

Candidates for the position MUST be able to lift ice chests containing water and/or soil samples with weight up to 50lbs and have a clean driving record. Samples need to be loaded and offloaded from our vehicles continuously throughout the business day. Chain-of-custody and safety protocols must be adhered to.

Since the schedule will vary from day to day, flexibility is important and lab management will work with hired candidate to have work schedule routine as possible. Routes are generally determined by 4 p.m. for the following business day.
