What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Helper - 1st shift position at Alpha Baking Company?
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1st shift
- Packaging - 08:00 - 16:00 Monday - Friday; Saturday work possible
- Perform bagging of product in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform tracking of product to eliminate out of specification product.
- Assist production / packaging line with tracking, bagging, and labeling product.
- Perform pan dumping in a timely manner without smashing product.
- Pan and rack product efficiently.
- Follow all company provided training guidelines.
- Follow all plant and corporate safety and food safety policies and procedures
- Report safety incidents to supervisor/management immediately.
- Report food safety concerns to supervisor/management immediately
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Participate in plant audit and inspection preparation.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Be able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Be able to push or pull up to 200 pounds on wheeled equipment.
- Be able to perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching.
- Be able to stand for majority of shift.
- Be able to read/write English.
- Be able to work in high ambient temperatures.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience:
- Six (6) months food manufacturing experience preferred.
