Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage various types of vehicles including flatbed trucks, tankers, and tractor-trailers. The Local Driver will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks and dryvans.
- Execute route driving efficiently to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Upkeep of trailer, keeping it clean to avoid loading refusals.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and any incidents that may occur during transport.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving or delivery driving is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating flatbed trucks, tankers, tractor-trailers, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required.
- Strong understanding of route navigation and local traffic regulations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management skills with a focus on punctuality.
- Preferably 2 years experience OTR.
