Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced data governance professional to assist with the roll-out of our data catalog product.

Job Title: Data Governance Professional - Data Catalog Product Analyst

Location: Hybrid (Chicago)

Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension/conversion)

Position Responsibilities:

• Shepherd teams through onboarding processes, facilitate conducting UAT, and help upskill users.
• Refine roles, responsibilities, and role-based security access requirements for users who require CRUD access.
• Continuously improve processes for business stakeholders to create, update, and delete business metadata.
• Assist data stewards/owners with defining glossary terms and provide ingestion support.
• Ensure adherence to data governance best practices.
• Develop operations administrative user guide and services catalog.
• Develop Playbooks and execute Playbook ingestions and reviews.
• Develop measurements and processes to monitor tool performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Partner with communications lead to conduct training and champion the data catalog product.
• Define and execute controls to confirm the completeness and accuracy of metadata.
• Develop daily health check processes to confirm ongoing data catalog functionality.
• Collaborate with Product Manager, Platform team, and IT to ensure future integrations/connections are set up and onboard applications to Atlan based on roadmap priorities.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum five years of experience in a data governance or data analysis role.
• Proficient in implementing and managing data catalog products.
• Demonstrated understanding of metadata management, data governance, and lineage concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Highly self-directed with the ability to multitask.
• Experience with Atlan preferred.
• Hospitality experience is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Science, or a related field.
