Buyer's Assistant - Grocery

URM Stores, Inc. is currently looking for a motivated Buyer's Assistant to join our growing team! The ideal candidate for our Buyers Assistant position, has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Grocery, Food Brokerage, or Administrative Assistant experience. Your Day-to-Day

• Review and enter vendor cost changes looking for discrepancies and discontinued items.
• Add new items, update existing items and communicate updates to other departments as needed.
• Assist in the setup of show catalogs/bulletins.
• Track and update PO’s in the system for both every day and promotional programs.
• Work with warehouse receiving department on PO questions and issues.
• Work with warehouse on scheduled show/promotional item releases.
• Set up new vendors and maintain vendor compliance.
• Resolve with vendors any missing or shorted shipments, cancellations and over shipments.
• Reconcile and balance invoices with incoming product received pricing and freight charges.
• Selling overstocked products to customers.
• Create Letters to communicate item changes to customers.
• Assist the other purchasing teams as backup or for special projects as needed.
• Work Hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
  
  

Requirements

• Detail-oriented with ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet time sensitive deadlines.
• Grocery industry experience.
• Retail industry experience.
• Working knowledge and application of the distribution process.
• Proficiency and accuracy in 10-Key and data entry.
• Efficient in Excel, Word, and other basic computer programs.
• Excellent phone skills and verbal communication.
• Basic math and accounting skill.
• Ability to interpret instructions, both written and verbal.
• Can work well with others, with good interpersonal abilities.
• Organized and detail-oriented with an ability to work well under pressure.
