Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by preparing instruments and materials.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
• Manage patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate medical documentation.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Schedule appointments and manage the dental office's reception duties as needed.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders when necessary.
• Support endodontic procedures by preparing necessary materials and instruments.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Experience in endodontics is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in using dental software such as Epic or Eaglesoft is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of general dentistry principles and anatomy knowledge.
• Ability to perform dental receptionist duties, including scheduling and managing patient interactions.
• Competent in medical documentation practices to ensure accurate record keeping.
