What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Tank Inspector position at Alpha Environmental Services, Inc.?
Alpha Environmental Services, Inc. is a 26-year-old, locally owned company, seeking a full-time Environmental Field Inspector to join the Tank Department Team. This position is an exceptional opportunity to increase your knowledge of the environmental field. The work will include but is not limited to site investigations for underground storage tanks, soil sampling and field data collection. Initial inspections often include searching out tank locations on commercial and residential properties. Collecting soil, gas and water samples to assess sites with fuel contamination. Preparing inspection and DEQ reports of decommissioning's and/or site clean-ups. A inspector may also supervise certain on-site work with crews, city and DEQ inspectors. A typical day will have the candidate show up on location, review scheduled work for the day and will be provided with a company vehicle to drive. Tools and training will be provided as needed. The starting wage will depend on experience.
Responsibilities and Skills for this position:
- Must have a valid driver's license and a record that permits being insurable
- Must pass a background check
- Experience working around utilities
- Magnetic and Split-Box (Pipe & Locator) experience a plus
- Manual Geoprobe experience a plus
- Drill Rig Experience a plus
- Environmental Assessment Experience a plus
- Basic construction knowledge a plus
- Ability to self-manage and multitask
- Ability to organize schedule
- Computer Literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Self-motivated
- Team player
- Good verbal and written communication skills
