Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of commercial construction projects. The Assistant Project Manager will work alongside the Project Manager and collaborate with stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors to assist with scheduling, budgeting, compliance, and resource coordination throughout all phases of construction.
This role is ideal for a professional looking to grow into a senior leadership position, gaining hands-on experience in managing drywall and metal stud framing projects.
Key Responsibilities:Project Support & Coordination
- Assist in defining project scope, deliverables, and schedules.
- Support the acquisition of necessary permits, approvals, and regulatory documentation.
- Track and report on project progress, timelines, and budgets.
- Help monitor labor compliance requirements and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Subcontractor & Vendor Management
- Assist with subcontractor selection, coordination, and communication.
- Review and help manage subcontractor and supplier agreements.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Cost & Resource Management
- Assist in budget tracking and cost control, ensuring projects stay within approved budgets.
- Support the procurement of materials and services, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated.
Document Control & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and daily reports.
- Utilize construction management software to track project milestones and issues.
- Help generate progress reports for internal teams and stakeholders.
Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate efforts between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Communicate with the project team to address project challenges and solutions.
- Contribute to maintaining strong client relationships through clear communication and problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in construction project management support, ideally within the drywall and metal stud industry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, On-Screen Take Off, Quick Bid, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam.
- Strong knowledge of construction principles, safety standards, and building codes.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Familiarity with contract documents and project financial controls is a plus.

Pay: $21.65 - $22.66 per hour
